A workshop on Blockchain Technology

24 - 28 June, 2019, NERUL, NAVI MUMBAI

Blockchain Technology

Person explaining what is blockchain technology

A blockchain is a digitised, decentralised, public ledger of all crypto transactions used for maintaining a permanent and tamperproof record. This database is managed by computers belonging to a peer-to-peer (P2P) network. Each of the computers in the distributed network maintains a copy of the ledger to prevent a single point of failure (SPOF) and all copies are updated and validated simultaneously.

There are four standard methods blockchain use to arrive at consensus. They are Proof of Work (PoW), Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (PBFT), Proof of Stake (PoS), Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS).

It mainly has two advantages: electronic ledgers are much cheaper to maintain than traditional accounting systems and, fully automated DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) system results in far fewer errors.

As it is secured and tamperproof, blockchain technology is appearing in a variety of commercial applications today.

Why blockchain?

With its features of cryptography, distributed sharing and decentralisation of data, blockchain technology is rapidlyimpacting business operations across the world. IT leaders are extreamly optimistic about the technology touting it to have bigger impact than what the internet had back in 90s.

About the event

This workshop has been designed for faculty members of departments of Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Information Technology exclusively. It will help the faculties in better understanding blockchain  technology (BCT) which surely posses great potential.

After completing this workshop faculty members will be in position to take independent research, guide students in their projects, setup institute level crypto-coins network etc.

About CCC

About Us

College Campus Chain (CCC) is set up in Toronto, Canada by IIT-B alumini in 2018. Industry experts turned into academicians, founders passionately want to re-invent the educational system especially for technical courses.

Bring emerging technologies to students faster than the traditional way is the mission of CCC.

Students can get better career prospects through this. And the gap between industry requirements and students’ skill sets can be bridged.
